Cape Cod in the Summer

Well  it's Memorial Day weekend the  start of all the crazy drivers arriving on  Cape Cod. People drive like you live here. It's great that you come and spend your money but people live here year round. We have to get to work to help you and when you take your sweet old time going we can not get to work. When the speed is 40 go 40 not 25 not 35 go 40.. If you are on the mid cape highway (rt 6) after exit 9 going to Provincetown go the speed limit it's 50 don't go 40 it is a 2 lane road that needs to keep moving. It will never get bigger no 4 lane road on this 13 mile road Why you ask because of wetlands . Just please drive .. and when you are taking that right put on the blinker for right hand turn not a left . If you are taking a left take it  as soon as you can don't wait for someone to let you go you need to go.. and at the lights if it's RED you can turn Right on RED  here. If  your a set of light and it's 3 lanes  it's 1. for he left  2. is for the center is for straight on 3. is for  right is for Right turns as it is RIGHT ON RED.

Now for all you bike riders who take our bike trails when you are at a stop sign on the bike trail  IT means STOP get of your BIKE and WALK accross . A pedestrian is a person traveling on foot, whether walking or running. In some communities, those traveling using roller skates or skateboards are also considered to be pedestrians BUT A BIKE IS NOT A PEDESTRAIN. A cross walk is for WALKERS  not for you to ride your bike accross. Cars do NOT have to stop for you as you ARE NOT A WALKER. But if you are off your bike and waiting they will stop for you. And for kids under 12 wear a bike helemet it's for saftey and the law. My opion is if the towns are in need of money they should have a summer officer at the major stops on bike trail and give out tickets for not following the rules.  Think of the money the towns would have. If the state needs more money how about registration for Bike. They did it back in the 1960-1980. Each town had you go to the police station and register your bike paid $2  for it. If your bike was stolen they could return it to you .

Now to our Beaches.. people learn to park do not take up 2 spaces for your car  others would like to enjoy the beach but if your car takes up the space they can not. Yes you have to pay to park at our beaches. Each town office has sticker dept. and NO there is no town wide sticker program if you pay taxes in a town you can get a sticker if you are a rental you can get a sticker but you pay . Even us who live here have to pay to go to the beach. Please park where the sign are not is someone driveway. Clean up after yourself there are no MAID service for the beach. Yes we do have private beach areas they are marked. Mostly it's the people who could afford the price for beachfront house  that will complain you are on their property but remember they only own to high water mark on the beach. They are the ones that are only here for say two weeks all summer ..  For those who want to have a fire on the beach get a permit first then have fun. It would suck if you did it then had to pay as the fine is hefty. Most of all enjoy your stay, have your fun, tip your servers good..
